Questions

What is Yardkin?

Yardkin is a garden app for backyard fruit trees, vegetables and herbs. It keeps each plant's history and tells you what it needs today, from its species, where it grows and your local weather, with an assistant that logs care, answers questions and diagnoses photos.

How does Yardkin decide when to water?

Every day it estimates how much water each plant used from your forecast (heat, sun, wind and humidity), counts rain only for plants it can reach, and adjusts for pots, raised beds and soil. It holds off when real rain is coming and asks for extra water on very hot days.

Does it work outside the tropics?

Yes. The guide covers citrus, stone fruit, apples, pears and berries, counts winter chill for the trees that need it, and gives planting months for warm-winter and colder climates.

How much does it cost?

Yardkin is free while it's invite-only. At launch there will be a free Seedling plan for a few plants, Grower at $5.99/month for a real home garden with a daily AI check-up, and Orchard at $12.99/month for big gardens and families. See the Pricing page for details.
